Mend Pull Switch Light Replace

My pull cord switch has jammed on in my new bathrrom wall light?

I have purchased a new pull cord switch but have no idea how to fix it can anyone give me any suggestions as to how to go about repairing or replacing the pull cord on off switch. It is a wall light in a bathroom.
