shower banging ?

i have a giainsborough royale thermostatic mixer showrer ,i have had a banging noise for quite sometime and the water runs erraticly,it seems be on the hot inlet side ,i had my 28 cdi boiler checked and the plumber seems to think it is the valve,any help please,thanks
