Bernina 801 runs on its own when connected to power?
I don't need to touch the foot pedal it just goes off on its own very fast and there is a burning smell
This has just happened, it took off when I was sewing nomally. Have disconnected the foot pedal and it makes no difference.
It was serviced about 18 months ago and was in great shape
Erm,sorry Ken,it's actually the condensor in the foot conrtol thats gone when the machine runs on with no pressure applied to the foot.Most descent electronic stores such as Maplins can supply a 0.47 mf condensor,just fit to same contacts as the faulty part you remove.

I have a frister rossman machine that was running on its own. I took your advice and removed suppressor. Brilliant! I am in control again, thanks for your advice.

Hello Tessa,
If the machine runs on with the foot control off then the suppressor in the motor has blown, you can replace it yourself otherwise a hop repair, should not cost too much.#
