water mixing via shower unit?

i have ib rubinetterie italian concealed thermostatic shower which has started mixing excessive amount of cold water even when set to the hottest setting,thus resulting in cold water through the hot tap in the nearby sink unit- please advise the best way to rectify this problem.

the problem is normally caused by lime scale or other debris forming around the internal components thus rendering the thermostatic useless ,one solution is turn the valve to the hottest with max pressure and leave it to run hopefully this will purge the debris .the other is strip the whole unit down
