clutch problem ?

I have just fitted a new 3 part clutch to my 2003 hdi citroen relay 2.5 van with a MG5TU gear box, now I come to bleed the clutch there is no bleed nut on the slave cylinder but there is a nipple with a rubber cap all bonded as part of the plastic slave cylinder when I pump the pedal I can get fluid to pass into the slave cylinder but not enough to get it to release the clutch. How do you bleed this type of system?

Hi, in some cases the master and slave cylinders come already filled and bled as a sealed unit from new therefore no need for any bleeding. If you are using the old ones and allowed fluid to leak out you may need to make up something to back bleed the system from the slave upto the master. something like a squeezy bottle with lid and a rubber pipe filled with brake fluid so you can push fluid though under pressure just may do the trick.

some transits have a bleed nipple like this and to bleed these you have to pull the pipe out a quarter of an inch, press pedal, push pipe in,pull out pipe, press pedal and so on,dont know on these vans but have a look anyway, good luck
