Hotpoint BF1620 won't drain?

Our Hotpoint BF1620 packed up last night. There is water in the bottom of the machine and none of the programmes will work. We can switch the machine on and we can programme the machine but none of the programmes will run. Is this just the pump that has packed up and is stopping the rest of the programme from running or is it likely to be something more serious and expensive? The machine is integrated and is 4 years old.
