How can I stop the pump motor on my girlfriends OKO Favorit 40250i?
During the recent sub zero temperatures, the large diameter outlet drain pipe from the kitchen froze. This meant that water could not drain from the kitchen sink or, more importantly from the dishwasher when it was running a cycle.
Now, from the comments on this help site, I believe the flood protection switch has been activated and the pump remains on continuously unless the machine is turned off at the mains. The machine is integrated so not so easy to extract. I have syphoned water from the salt container access and also from the holes at the bottom of the main strainer but the problem still occurs.
I attempted to extract the machine and managed to get it half way out and tilted forward - this solved the problem - or so I thought. Put the machine back and the problem was still there.
I am slightly confused by the tilt method as I am wondering where the water, people have mentioned, comes out from - I would have assumed that the machine is a sealed unit so any water should appear within the main cavity area, not outside the machine onto towels. I am concerned because the main motor for this machine is on the right hand side and tilting the machine to the right could inadvertently spill water onto the electric motor.
Any advice would be extremely well received.
Many Thanks
