Mend Panasonic SA-PT460 DVD Player Remote Control

panasonic sa-pt460 remote problem?

I've put new batteries in my remote for the above dvd and it now comes up with the message 'remote 2' on the screen, but the buttons don't work?
The TV buttons on the DVD remote work though?
I've lost the manual - how do I fix this problem?
