I change the plug, and rebuilt the Carb, Runs way better, BUT as is runing it backfires through the exhaust blue-like flame shoost out and sounds like a gun? help?

Other things to check are the valve seats especially on exhaust valve. Check for any air leaks on the carb where it bolts to the engine . Change spark plug / check plug lead. This problem will be a process of elimination to solve .Hope this helps . Bill

Does the muffler have rust holes? This will admit extra air, which, in conjunction with a slightly rich mixture (carb overhaul?) will form an explosive mixture in the muffler. BOOM!
