How do I fix my Sony Cybershot camera.Stuck in USB mode?

Had same problem with dsc w300 titanium - remove rear cover and glass - carefully unclip screen with buttons and lay to one side (still attatched)- unscrew and unplug usb port from main psb - clean everything port the ribbon etc - and refit. a quick check is to turn camera on with usb port detatched from main board then with it plugged in when it works put it back together . "wear gloves"

Agree with above - my kids spilled a bottle sprite on my DSC-H20 and after a month it showd the same "USB mode". Cleaning with wet toothpick solved the problem. No need to buy new cam! Thanks!)

Same problem with my DSC-100, have never used that port, was working fine the other day when I took a couple of pics, then cleared the Memory Stick with the camera.....Holding zoom not making any difference......Neither did a new toothbrush......

When the USB cable port on the camera gets dirty the camera thinks the cord is connected so it goes into USB mode. I sprayed my camera's port with an air duster and that fixed the problem.

I just did this, take a clean dry toothbrush and clean plug in, on bottom of camera. My camera works now.

Hi Tamika,

I've the same issue with my Sony W1. It's stuck in USB Mode, but keeping pressed any zoom button, it works.

Did you find some definitive solution to this problem?
