how to fix a broken flashing unit in my old R reg citroen xantia?

From personal experience it will probably be the relay. The indicator packed up on my xantia some years ago but by just changing the relay which is housed under the dashboard on the driver's side the indicators worked perfectly. The relay shouldn't cost much even from a Citroen dealer. If that doesn't do the trick then you are probably looking at a new indicator stalk which certainly will cost a a fair bit from a Citroen dealer. Try to get one from a breakers instead.

do you mean your indicators are not working?the flasher unit could be in the fuse box,a handbook will give you the right location,you could try sourcing one at a scrappy to save you expense if that is not the fault

Are you being deliberatly unhelpful?, or have you been in the same situation and found that there are no other solutions that can occur with a flasing unit other that a fuse and a new unit, but just couldn't be bothered typing that much of an answer?
