How can I fix Dolphin 1000 electrical shower?

Please, help if you can!!!
I can switch it on (light shows), put a knob for standby - cold water is coming out (not as much as it used to), then when I want to switch it further for hot water - light goes off and water cuts off. Knob for temperature is looking pretty dead, you can feel it. You move if freely as much as you want. I am a woman and I only can have a guess that something might be wrong with electricals or knob adjustment. Any ideas please? I cannot afford a new shower? Thank you.

I had the same problem could not use the Dolphin shower for 2 years. I happened to buy a cheap bath tap shower sprayer yesterday then tried the new shower rose ( think most shower roses can be easily screwed on the Dolphin) and got continuous warm water. The reason is if the old rose is silted up not enough water passes to carry away the heat from the heater and the thermostat cuts out. Like you the temperature control is jammed now but it is not such a problem. As you can try to adjust the water flow - in the centre of my original Dolphin rose there is a screw that can be loosened that widens the holes somewhat. You can also try descaling the rose in its loosened state.
