The two problems could be connected,if the servo, or the servo vacuum pipe is faulty, the engine could be drawing in too much air & causing a weak (fuel)mixture,or if the inlet manifold, or any pipes attached to the manifold has a leak it may cause the same problems, ( i'm assuming it's a petrol engine)
