I have a puma combi boiler.
i keep on geting scale blocking the hot water taps which i cannot turn off.
i have to keep on geting the plumber to clean out the taps.
the boiler has a limebeater fitted to the boiler pipe.
do you think this needs replacing. It is nine years old

Yes; replace the inline scale reducer.... It sounds as though you are in a very hard-water area... It may be worth the investment of purchasing a salt-based water softener... They are more expensive and do need maintenance, but will save you plumber fees and aggrovation in the future.
