Mend Ford Fiesta 02 Fan Stay Time

Why does my ford fiesta 02 fan stay on all the time?

I have a ford fiesta 02 car and ive noticed that my fan stays comes on after about 5 mins of driving and stays on. Why is this? my temp is normal and car isnt overheating? or so it is telling me, any ideas?

The fan is controlled by the engine ecu, it energises a relay when the water temp is at the correct temp
