hi there the dc04 is a pain in the butt,is the brush spinning?the most common fault is the clutch which controls the brush and automaticiy ajusts the depth for different carpet piles;the motor would still run of course the other common problem is the on/off switch or the mains lead'you have not given much imfomation on the fault
