To use an SDS drill to take standard drill bits, you can get an SDS chuck adapter, this is an SDS fitting with a screw thread on it that can take a "normal " chuck of your choice , I have one fitted with a 13mm standard chuck that allows me to drill a hole in wood or metal then to instantly change over to an SDS masonary bit, but of course ,turn off the hammer if you are using standard drill bits, hope this helps
