you can buy small pull cord switchs for individual lights and fit them to each light

In my mind its dangerous to even suggest adapting the new lights to take cord switch.

You have two choices that will keep you safe.
Wait until you've found like for like ie built in cord switches on the lights.

Secondly contact a REGISTERED electrician to fit the new lights as you want if it can be done.
You might have to have them on a wall switch which could involve extra wiring.

the switch is not the problem, you can get them very easy, the problem will be the space you have in new fitting,in my experience if they are not designed for pull cord switches then your on too plums,

Presumably you seek wall mounted light fittings each with its own individual pull cord on/off switch.

I have had these in the past and have found the small micro switch to be unreliable.

You may be able to buy lights and fit your own micro switches but it would require minor engineering - hole drilling - switch mounting - rewiring. Then you will have the problem of possible switch failure - they are not as robust as regular light switches.

Finding the space inside the new wall lights to fit an internal switch may be an issue for you. Then finding the right switch - it will need to be rated for mains voltage and have a lever arm operation for the cord to attach to.

You will need to buy sub miniature - lever arm - latching - (pull on / pull off) micro switch rated for 230V (115V US) - a rare beast

You might consider using the switches from the old wall lamps.
