how do I get my megane's immobilizer to talk to a second hand ECU?

the ECU - do you know what that means? engine controll unit? - electric controll unit? "dont matter" just spells one thing to me! and that is :- M O N E Y ! - away for them to make even more money so you HAVE to goto them! SORRY it dont help you much but will tell you this i once had a ford escort panther black a dream car had it few years loved it i did! but one day it broke down me knowing & work with cars everyday then cos the fuse box had broke & i got another one from scrap yard the car never worked again! cos i got told off dealers that i had to buy the same one as what was in my car as new this long number whitch would of cost a packet & if that still never worked wud of cost more & more so i give it up before it cost me any more thats the choice we have sometimes! - but question for you? DID you keep the old ECU? if so have you priced a one off the dealers? but i do know if you have & got a shock!!! the worse one is when you come too in hospital when you past out with shock lol unless might work if you got ECU + key from scrap yard? but ask them & they might let you try it if not let you bring it back (but ask before you leave) or you can kiss good bye to cash! please let me know how you get on & if i find out anything else i will post it ok? good luck
