Dashboard on 56 reg citreon picasso totally blank?

Turned the car on today and the entire of the dashboard is blank!!! Help! I can't see how much petrol is left, the speed i'm doing - nothing! Also, bizarrely, the radio doesn't work either? Is this a common problem (the dealer we spoke to say Citreon recalled a load of cars a few years back for this fault). Obviously don't kow what speed I'm doing so I am without a car a the moment and the garage can't fit me in till Wednesday - any help would be very much appreciated
