Grans spinner does not spin - Hotpoint Supermatic Plus 9404?

I am trying help my friends Gran. Her twintub does not spin. The motor runs and drive belt is in one piece but seems to be slipping around the pulley on the bottom of the spin cyclinder. The two sides of the pulley wheel seem to be lose or even separate. I have no idea if the drive mechanism has some sort of clutch which is not gripping. She is 94 and I hope to help her get the machine going, since it is lasting almost as long her.
