how to reset my Miele w528 washing machine?

Thank you so much. I have just used this tip and it worked. Last time this happened I called the repair man who took my machine for 2 weeks!!!!!! I think I might give him a call.:(

Thank you Bernii for the above solution.

I have a Miele MedicWash W3845. I used a plastic tube to channel tap water from laundry tap into the soap powder dispenser to speed up the water filling process. I usually want more water for the wash cycle than the predetermined level. Yesterday I filled it too fast and there were some water got sprayed into the washer, outside of the drum. This result in fault code F189. It just would not reset after the machine was turned off and then on.

Tilting the washing machine to drain the water from presumably a tray at the bottom of the machine had resulted in immediate success in resetting the machine.

i had the same problem with my Miele W1213; it would not clear the error code, even after clearing blockage. Thus i leaned the machine forward and it then cleared the error code.

You've let water into the base which has triggered the leak detection float.
Switch off the machine.
Tilt the machine forward, allowing the water to come out of the base tray.
Hey presto !
