How can i fix my dimplex combi storage/booster heater, 12 years old?

My large dimplex heater 12 years old and rarely used will no longer function as a storage heater but the booster aspect is woking fine. What could be wrong and how can i fix it. I am worried that it is so old its not worth doing although its been gently used and no wear or tear.
