Flashing door interlock? Hotpoint WMA 54?

Have just read the thread about flashing door lights and damaged PCB's. I have a hotpoint wma 54 which has just had new drum bearings fitted. The door lock PCB blew a couple of minutes into the test run...a short somewhere?
My question is, is there any way the door lock can be disabled or shorted, as I am in Australia....getting replacement bearings is one thing, a PCB over here.....no chance. Any hints or tips would be much appreciated!
