How can I fix Worcester 28i jnr ?

There is a remote control unit with timer and thermostat built in one unit and is wireless.batteries needed to be changed, and we tried to do that. We reffered the manual and followed instructions so that sending unit remote sends the signal to receiving unit fixed in front of boiler. The guide book is simple but we cannot click the boiler.we have no contract
