Recoil starter for Landxcape SGT34X, 1.2kw 34cc?

Hi. Anyone know how to get the spring back into the recoil starter assembly of this strimmer, without losing an eye, shredding fingers or going insane? Or, better still - where I can find a replacement recoil starter for this model. Have scoured eBay and spare parts websites, but it seems Landxcape don't exist any more (?).
