Floor fixing of V & B Toilet and finding source of leak?

I have a water leak on the floor around the foot of the toilet bowl on my Villeroy & Boch toilet.
The cistern is in a wall and I want to remove the toilet as the leak might be where the water pipe from the cistern goes into the loo.
The loo has two horizontal screws near the floor, one each side. Do these screw into floor mounted pillars and if I remove them and the sealant, should I be able to remove the loo from the soil pipe and cistern input pipe?
