Mend White Knight CL372W Dryer Model

Whats wrong with my white knight tuble dryer? Model CL372W?

The door closes and when i turn the control on, it makes a clicking sound but doesnt come on. Can you please help?

on the door should be a plastic peg that pokes through the hole in the front cabinet when you close the door.has it broken off?
