FL828 control switch?

At the end of a wash cycle the light in the front panel wont go out,and it sounds like the timer is still running, it has to be pushed in manually before the door lock can be released,it works fine for a 19 yr old machine and if it can be fixed for a reasonable amount I'm sure it will give more good service
I suspect it might be the main programme switch, but am not really 100% sure. Any ideas???/
