no headlamp flasher on a 1996 jeep cherokee limited?

hello,
on an N reg jeep cherokee limited, the headlamp flasher seems to have gone awol.
headlamp main and dip is working fine on headlamp push/pull switch to the right of the steering wheel. all the fuses under the bonnet appear in tact, I'm pulling on the dim/dip lever on the steering coluum, is this correct? any ideas please, and are there any other fuses that I should be checking?
