just got the xtrons 712 car radio for my vw golf but it keeps losing it radio stations every time i take out the key ,i have turned the red and yellow wire around but it still doe's not work please i need help on this matter thanks..........
Hi these need at least 10v on engine cranking or they lose presets, mines the same fine untill you crank engine then voltage drops below 10v and the stereo resets,
you need to put a capacitor and diode in permanent live feed,
if you get the right size this should hold enough voltage to stereo, though only if you dont crank too long,

Isnt the yellow wire the memory and needs a direct live with a fuse of course for the radio to keep all the preset stations but im not a expert so would wait for more info.
you have to have a constant live and a switch live .on some radios you have to have red and yellow together for it to work .i would add a live from the battery and the red to the iginition
