My Beko washing machine wont work?

I turn my Beko machine on and the water starts to come in then when it comes to the nest cycle it make a noise as if it is going through the motions of working but nothing happens.
I did clean the wires around the motor as when I first started the machine it kept spaking around there but I couldn't find any wires that were broken or out of the socket can you help please.
