pull start?

when I pull the cord there is no resistance and the engine is not kicking in...what should I do? It has a full tank of gas and oil. It was running fine last week. What might have happened?
Please some one help me out. Briggs & Stratton 3.5 hp lawnmower with 21" blade.

Sounds like the recoil pawl is not locating , you will have to get it repaired.if you know some one who can do this for you it will be much cheaper. you will have to take the model,type ,code,
to get spare parts,this you will get this on the front cover just above the spark plug it is difficult to see as it is painted black
