How can I fix colour intensity error in photographs printed on Canon MP60 ?

My Canon MP600 printer scanner prints all my photographs with an extra intensity of colour. The intensity seems to have an extra hue of red. I am using generic ink cartridges & not the manufacturers. My ink suppliers tell me that their ink is of the highest standard & would not cause this problem. Canon of course tell me that all problems are caused by using ink other than theirs.
