what is wrong with my fridge/freezer?

model no ca5411 ffw, fridge /freezer, 7 yrs old. The fan located in the freezer compartment will only come on for 5-10 mins and then switches itself off.The food is defrosting as a consequence. This problem only began about a week ago. Everthing else appears to be working normally.
