opertating problem..model potterton flamingo 50?

when ever i turn the hot water my heating system turns on aswell.. and the hot water doesnot come straight away.. i'll have to wait for atleast half hour to get the hot water from the tap...could you please find the solution and could you please tell me how to time on the display panel...your help will me very appreciated...thanks
