homelite hht2655 petrol hedge trimmer non start?

can anyone advise
the only it will start is to pour small amount of
petrol into carb
once started it runs ok

buy a can of easystart. Set choke to normal and spray a little under it (thats where the air intake is) and pull cord.It should start straight away.Saves a lot of arm ache.
