how can i fix boiler potterton profile 50e?

my potterton profile 40e balanced flue gas boiler has been making a grating sound for several months,all working fine but louder when heating is on any ideas please ?

Profile 50 is a balanced flue type heater with internal fan
Chances are the noise is coming from the fan housed at the top of the unit by memory and may need cleaning
You could turn off gas supply, remove cover (careful of electrical bits) call for heat and see if noise is associated with fan. Removal of fan is simple and fairly obvious but isolate power first
