my battery runns down in just over an hour w/ full charge!! how can i stop?

If your laptop is a dell, there are some models with deffective batteries. Try pulling up a bit of information to see if your laptop battery belongs in the recall. You should narrow it down by your laptop model, if your battery says 'made in japan' or something of the like, and then/or by serial number/code.

Batteries have a finite life. The fix I am afraid is to buy a new one.
