Unable to download pictures to PC?

Hello there,

I have an Olympus digital camera model C2100 and there seems to be a problem with it. Although it takes good pictures I am unable to download the pictures directly onto my computer via the usb socket?
If I take out the memory card I can download to a card reader but this method is a bit long winded. Can you please offer any advice - does the camera require repairs?
