Mend Renault Scenic 2ltr RXE Fuel Car Idle

1999 renault scenic 2ltr rxe, fuel smell?

when car is in idle or traffic lights etc. there is a strong smell of petrol, this doesn't happen always though, garage have looked and found no leaks etc.

has anyone any thoughts on what to do please ????
