HI, I have a Nissan Almera Tino 2.2tdi 2001 that starts and ticks over at idle fine but when you accelerate at around 1000-1500rpms it misfires badly. When you get to 2000 rpm and the turbo cuts in it stops misfiring but lacks power, like you're driving with the handbrake slightly on. It has recently had a service for new glow plugs, air filter, fuel filter the emissions are also low. The garage put on a new air flow meter yesterday which helped abit but not much. When the engine is cold and the car is on choke it runs fine until thw engine warms up and it misfires again.

Just something else to add to eliminate really, we have a 1.8 Primera here with the same engine and have tried all the sensors which are the same, we have stripped and cleaned the fuel tank and delivery system, i also changed the timing chain as this was 18mm out and some idiot told me that more than 10mm out and this is the problem, don't believe this as the chain tensioner if working correctly will more than compensate for this. I am now looking for an ECU as i am starting to believe that this is the problem.

Check clamp on turbo, mine was loose, no power, didn't show on diagnostic check. Replaced clamp running like a dream. Garage smoke checked it.

I have the identical problem too Chris :(
I have replaced the 2 sensors (crank & cam), only for the same problem to reoccur.
My Tino is the 1.8 petrol, so I believe it's a common pronblem across the range rather than just limited to either petrol or diesel.
If I can get a cure I will let you know.
