Zanussi Jetstream intermittant fault?

My washing machine fills with water on a cycle but stops shortly after starting and well short of completion. It wont do a cycle smoothly without intervention!!!!!!!!!

After turning it off and on a number of times the cycle will eventually complete.

TIRING!!!
