Wireing fault on our Ford Galaxy GLX Petrol engine?

Came back from France and just docked the steering colume was smouldering had to phone recovery came back on low loader since then only passenger window switch works,all doors have to be locked from inside exept drivers door which locks with key,the boot wont lock even with key although you can here the locking mechanism locking,the wipers will only work with a direct feed and also the heater/blower. Under the dash my hubby noticed that a small section of wire has melted. Can we replace this wireing. Anyone any solutions.
