Have you moved out of Region? ie this is a PAL tv and as such will only work in a PAL Region(UK,Ireland and one or two others) so if you have moved somewhere that is on NTSC you will not be able to use it as a TV without somhow modulating the signal. As for the DVD player this can be unlocked(apparently!) and used as a Region free player.
