NAPCO GEM-P800 has to be reset after each usage?

Recently, whenever we leave home and alarm our GEM-P800 system and then return home and disarm, the panel beeps with zone 5 lit. Zone 5 is a wireless PTR/mircrowave transmitter. Pressing Reset acknowledges the problem but the trouble light stays on and it beeps a couple times per minute. The only way I have been able to reset it is to disconnect the power and battery and then plug the power/battery in again. All seems well until the next time we arm/disarm the system. After reset, the transmitter seems to work OK. It's light turns on and off when you wave at it.

Nope. No batteries. Four wires - a 12v pair and a normally closed contacts pair.
I'm suspicious of the sensor since I have another one of these sensors in another room and it works fine.
Is there any place online where I can buy a replacement IR sensor?

The system is 10 years old and I don't think any of the sensors other than the smoke detectors have batteries. I don't have the original parts list; so, I don't know the model number of the IR sensor. I suspect it is powered by the system (?) and is not wireless, as I stated above. The part number I listed above is the only one I could find online that seemed close to what I have.

Another seemingly strange occurence: If I arm and disarm after reseting the system, all works OK. I only get the zone 5 beeper after I have armed and been away from the house for an hour or two and then come home and disarm.

I will check it for a battery just to be sure.

So the trouble light is on and it bleeps at you.
Kind of makes me think its trying to tell you something is wrong with zone 5.
Got the manual?
Try replacing the battery in the detector on zone 5 you might be surprised at the results.
