egr valve?

thanks wickham for the info, shall have a look at mine and try and clean it and order new one from net.then tell the local dealer that i dont want his and he can stuff it where the sun dont shine!!!!!!!!!!!!

try removing the egr valve first and give it a clean and check it is not seized,may save you a few quid

all main dealers treat motorists like idiots, charging up to 3 times the amount for parts you can from motor factors or of the net, and charging up to £100 per hour for labour charges. not much point complaining to trading standards as there is nothing they can do about it. the best way is not to use them unless you really have to. just make sure that the parts you get of the net are the right ones, as it could be a problem to return if wrong. most motor factors use your reg. number to supply right part, but are happy to replace if wrong.
