has this happened to anyone else?

six mths ago my belling double electric cooker became faulty as the electric would trip when i turned oven on.i tried new element but same thing happened.then i isolated two wires connected to grill element and hey presto oven worked.what happened next has puzzled me as we had a power cut in our home and when supply came back on the oven stopped working but the grill worked and no one had tampered with it.i then reconnected the wires i had isolated and then tried cooker again.the grill works the fan works without any tripping of supply but there is no heat from oven element.can anyone help please.
