Wot is wrong with my Ferroli Optimax HE 31 C gas boiler?

Pilot is not showing flame got no hot water or heating

Hi guys - so glad to have found this!

I tried doing the above and the gauge didn't even flinch and I was concerned to leave it open for so long. I bled a radiator last night (which had a lot of air in it) and therefore the pressure has gone.

How long do you usually have to keep the valve open for? Are we talking seconds or minutes?

Get in touch with Ferroli, the filling valve will be seized. They will change the valve under warranty, no fuss and no charge.

If one of the black taps is seized this is your problem. It must be seized closed and this is preventing the water from flowing. Unfortunately this means either applying more force to the tap and risking damaging it or replacing the tap. It will probably move with a little encouragement but the plastic knobs on the taps usually turn and leave the valve in the same place.

Thanx Andy, but the one of the black knobs wont turn. There is a blue one though, but nothing happens when I turn the black and the blue.

You have to open both the black taps to allow mains water to flow into the system but open the second one slowly as this will allow the water to flow. Watch the gauge to make sure you don't over pressurise it. I have to do mine about every 6 months
