Mend Hotpoint RLA80s Thermostat Temperature Replacement

How do i replace the themostat on a Hotpoint Larder fridge RLA80s?

I brought a new themostat off the internet and thought it was justa case of threading it through. However this themostat dosent turn the fridge off and the top half of teh larder fridge is freezing up. Have i got the wrong themostat or have i incorrectly fitted it
